Peninsula Valdes

Overview

Peninsula Valdes in Patagonia was declared a World Heritage Centre by UNESCO on account of its panoramic coastal scenery and the array of wildlife that inhabit the area including elephant seals, sea lions, Magellan penguins, southern right whales, guanacos and maras. This tour will allow you to explore the breathtaking beauty of one of Argentina’s natural gems.

Itinerary

DAY 1: PUERTO MADRYN
On arrival at Trelew Airport you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL in Puerto Madryn.

DAY 2: PENINSULA VALDES
Your tour will begin in Ameghino Isthmus at the Interpretation Centre. Afterwards, visit Punta Pirámides lobería to see the seal colony there, Caleta Valdés to see an elephant seal colony and a penguin rookery to possibly see Magellan penguins. Throughout the tour you will be able to see typical Patagonian wildlife such as guanacos and maras. (B)

DAY 3: PENINSULA VALDES
Today you will travel through the Patagonian steppe to first reach Gulfo Nuevo where you will find the Punta Ninfas lighthouse. The beaches that surround Punta Ninfas are a favourite breeding spot amongst elephant seals. Continue on to El Pedral, an authentic Patagonian estancia built at the beginning of the 20th century. Enjoy a tour of a nearby Magellan penguin colony before lunch and taking part in the activities at the Estancia. (B, L)

DAY 4: TRELEW
Today you will be transferred to Trelew for your onward flight. (B)
