Day 1: Quito
On arrival at Quito Airport, you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL for your three-night stay.
Day 2: Quito
Today you will be take to Cayambe, where you will have the opportunity to taste the delicious “Bizcochos de Cayambe”, a type of cracker or bread baked in a clay oven. Afterwards, you will visit the Otavalo Market, where the indigenous people of the area make and sell their textiles and handicrafts. Continue on to the town of Cotacachi, recognised for leather clothing and crafts. On the way to Cotacachi, you will visit an Andean instrument workshop “Ñanda Mañachi” located in the area of Peguche, to spend time with the local people and understand the Andean culture. After lunch, you will be taken to visit the Ecological Reserve where the Cuicocha lagoon is located, inside the crater of the Cotacachi Volcano.You will return to Quito in the afternoon. (B, L)
Day 3: Quito
Today you will be taken to Cotopaxi National Park, arriving at the foot of the impressive active volcano. You will be taken to visit the Museum Park, the Limpiopungo Lagoon and have the opportunity to hike the forest of chuquirahuas to 4200 meters. (if the weather permits). The Quilotoa Volcano, which has in its crater a stunning turquoise lagoon, makes it one of the most beautiful and photographed landscapes of Ecuador. You will then be taken on a short hike to appreciate the magnificent view of the volcano and return to Quito in the afternoon. (B)
Day 4: Quito – Galapagos Islands
Today you will be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos Islands. Enjoy an afternoon excursion on the island before a welcome dinner on-board M/V ARCHIPEL I. Three nights on-board M/V ARCHIPEL I. (B, D)
Days 5 – 6: Galapagos Islands
Enjoy morning and afternoon excursions including snorkelling, swimming and short walks. Wildlife highlights include frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, land and marine iguanas, and penguins. Each night aboard the vessel, naturalist guides will conduct lectures to improve your knowledge of the islands. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Galapagos Islands – Guayaquil
After breakfast, you will disembark and be transferred to the airport for your flight to Guayaquil. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL. (B)
Day 8: Guayaquil
Today you will enjoy a tour of Guayaquil, through the main streets and avenues. Visit the Simón Bolívar Park, La Rotonda with statues of Bolívar and Saint Martin, and the colourful, colonial neighbourhood of Las Peñas. You will also be taken to a viewpoint for panoramic views of Guayaquil and the Guayas River. (B)
Day 9: Depart Guayaquil
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport, marking the end of your tour. (B)
