Itinerary

DAY 1: BUENOS AIRES
On arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL for your two-night stay. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of the city starting in Plaza de Mayo, before heading to the famous Caminito alley in the barrio of La Boca and the northern barrios of Palermo and Recoleta. In the evening you will be taken to a tango dinner show. (D)

DAY 2: BUENOS AIRES
Today is at your leisure to explore this eclectic city on your own or join an optional tour. (B)

DAY 3: BUENOS AIRES – PUERTO MADRYN
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Trelev (additional cost). On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Punta Tombo Reserve; home to the continent’s largest colony of Magellan penguins. From mid-April to mid-September, instead of Punta Tombo Reserve, you will travel to Mount Avanzado and Punta Loma to see the sea lions. (B)

DAY 4: PUERTO MADRYN
After breakfast, you will visit Peninsula Valdes which was declared a Natural Heritage Centre by UNESCO. Your tour will include stops at Puerto Piramides where from July to November you may be able to go whale watching for the Southern Right whales and Punta Delgada to observe the Elephant seal colony and Valdes Coves. (B)

DAY 5: PUERTO MADRYN – USHUAIA
Today you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Ushuaia (flight at additional cost). On arrival, you will be transferred to your HOTEL. In the afternoon, you will sail across the Beagle Channel observing the birds and sea lions that inhabit the channel’s islands. You will also visit Les Eclaireurs lighthouse and the panoramic Ushuaia Bay. (B)

DAY 6: USHUAIA
After breakfast, you will leave the city and head to the Tierra del Fuego National Park to see Ensenada Bay, Lapataia Bay and Lake Acigami (Lake Roca) which changes colour with the weather. Depending on the season, in the afternoon you may visit Estancia Haberton and take a short boat ride to Martillo Island where you will have the chance to take a walk amongst the penguins. (B)

DAY 7: USHUAIA – EL CALAFATE
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to El Calafate (additional cost), located on the edge of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. On arrival, you will be transferred to your HOTEL. (B)

DAY 8: EL CALAFATE
This morning you will depart on an exciting day trip to the Los Glaciares National Park. In the park you will see the renowned Perito Moreno Glacier which rises up to 60m above the lake and spans 257 square kilometres. Walk along the paths in front of the glacier and take a boat trip to admire the glacier from all angles. In the afternoon, return to El Calafate. Overnight at your HOTEL. (B)

DAY 9: EL CALAFATE
Today is at your leisure to explore the town and surrounds. You may choose to take a boat trip on Lake Argentino where you will be able view some of the park’s other glaciers (boat trip at additional cost). (B)

DAY 10: EL CALAFATE
Today you will be met and transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
