Overview

Over three days, journey through Peru’s southern highlands from Cusco to Puno, taking in breathtaking landscapes along the way. Visit traditional villages, museums, churches, and ancient Inca temples, while discovering the depth of the country’s cultural heritage—still alive in the communities that inhabit the shores of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – PUNO

Today you will be transferred by coach to Puno. Along the way, stop at Andahuaylillas, known for its church, often referred to as the ‘Sistine Chapel of America’. Next, visit Raqchi, where you can explore the impressive Wiracocha Temple. Afterwards, enjoy lunch, followed by a brief stop at La Raya, the highest point of the journey at 4,313 meters above sea level. Finally, visit the town of Pucará, the first urban settlement near Lake Titicaca, which was developed between 100 and 200 AD. Afterwards, check-in to your HOTEL in Puno where you will stay for two nights. (L)

DAY 2: PUNO

Today you will be taken on a tour of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Here, the Uros people constitute an ancestral society inhabiting artificial islands constructed from totora reeds, which are grown in the lake itself. The tour begins with a transfer to the port of Puno, where a boat awaits to take you to the beautiful Uros Islands. Continue to the island of Taquile, renowned for its ancestral culture and traditional way of life. Here, there will be an information session about the island, followed by a lunch. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to your HOTEL. (B, L)

DAY 3: PUNO

Today you will be transferred to Juliaca Airport, marking the end of your tour. (B)
