This 10-day itinerary combines the evolutionary wonders of the Galapagos with the untamed beauty of the Amazon rainforest. Designed for nature lovers and curious adventurers, it offers a seamless and intimate exploration of two iconic ecosystems. Venture beyond the ordinary on a journey that unveils two of Ecuador’s greatest natural wonders.

Itinerary

Day 1: Quito

On On arrival at Quito Airport, you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL.

Day 2: Quito

This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Quito’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, including the lively Plaza de la Independencia. Visit some of the city’s most iconic religious landmarks, such as La Compañía de Jesús, San Francisco Church, or the neo-Gothic Basílica del Voto Nacional. Continue to El Panecillo Hill for panoramic city views, then travel to the Mitad del Mundo Monument to stand with one foot in each hemisphere, followed by a visit to the Intiñan Museum. (B, L)

Day 3: Quito – Galapagos

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to San Cristobal. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the port to board the Grand Majestic Yacht. In the afternoon, you will visit Junco Lagoon, the only freshwater lagoon in the islands, where frigatebirds soar overhead. Enjoy panoramic views of the island before heading back to the yacht for a sunset dinner as your yacht sets sail. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Galapagos

Discover the history of Post Office Bay, where 18th-century whalers once left mail in a wooden barrel. Walk among marine iguanas and spot vibrant flamingos at Cormorant Point, home to a unique green-sand beach. Later, enjoy snorkelling in the vibrant waters of Devil’s Crown, a sunken volcanic crater renowned for its abundance of marine life, including reef sharks, rays, and colourful fish. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Galapagos

At Suarez Point, follow trails past colonies of blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and, in season, waved albatrosses, all set against the backdrop of dramatic cliffs and crashing waves. In the afternoon, enjoy the pristine white sands of Gardner Bay, where playful sea lions and crystal-clear waters invite you to a relaxing dip or a stroll along the shoreline. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Galapagos – Quito

Your last expedition is to Los Gemelos or the Twin Craters. These formations were created by the collapse of surface material in underground fissures and chambers. The view of the scalesia forest accompanied by the songs of Darwin finches makes this the ideal way to bid farewell to Galapagos. Afterwards, you will be transferred to Baltra airport to board your onward flight to mainland Ecuador. Upon arrival in Quito, you will be transferred to your HOTEL. (B)

Day 7: Quito – Coca (Amazon)

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to El Coca, the gateway to the Amazon. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the lodge via motorised canoe, enjoying lush scenic views along the way. After a warm welcome and a refreshing drink, your guide will lead you on an introductory rainforest walk- your first taste of Yasuní National Park’s sights and sounds. (B, L, D)

Days 8 – 9: Amazon

Spend the next two days exploring this captivating ecosystem, with day tours curated by your expert Amazon guide, based on weather patterns, wildlife activity and your interests. You have the opportunity to visit vibrant parrot clay licks, engage with Kichwa community members, spot monkeys, river dolphins, and giant otters, climb canopy towers for sunrise birdwatching, explore hidden lagoons and venture out after dark for nocturnal discoveries. Day 10: Coca – Quito

Today you will be transferred by motorised canoe back to El Coca, in time for your onward flight to Quito. This marks the end of your journey. (B)
