DAY 1: GUATEMALA CITY – ANTIGUA
On arrival at Guatemala City Airport you will be transferred to your HOTEL for two nights in Antigua.
DAY 2: ANTIGUA
After breakfast, you will be taken on a tour of Antigua. During colonial times it was the capital city of the Kingdom of Guatemala, comprising the Provinces of Southern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. In the afternoon you will be taken to see San Antonio Aguascalientes and a coffee plantation. (B)
DAY 3: ANTIGUA – ATITLAN
Today you will depart to Chichicastenango, located in the central Guatemalan highlands, known for its multicoloured market. Here you will visit the Saint Thomas Church, the Calvary and the Graveyard, in which rites based on Mayan traditions still take place. In the afternoon, you will be taken to the Atitlán Lake. (B)
DAY 4: ATITLAN – GUATEMALA
Today you wil enjoy a boat ride to the native town of Santiago Atitlan, located between the Toliman and San Pedro Volcanoes. After an enjoyable trip on the river, you will visit St. James Apostole Church. In the afternoon return to Panajachel then to Guatemala City. (B)
DAY 5: GUATEMALA – TIKAL – GUATEMALA
Today you will fly to Flores (flights included), where you will be met and taken on a tour of the most important archeological site in the Mayan world – Tikal. Its name means “Place of Voices” and was built during the Mayans classic period. Visit the Q and R complexes, the Main Acropolys, Temple I of the Great Jaguar and the Temple II of the Masks. In the afternoon, you will take a flight back to Guatemala City. (B, L)
DAY 6: GUATEMALA CITY
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport, which marks the end of your tour. (B)
