This three-day Rovos Rail safari between Pretoria and Durban departs during the summer months. It includes game drives, a battlefields tour and a look at unusual African ceramics. The train departs from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria. Enjoy lunch as the Drakensberg Mountains come into view. In the afternoon the train climbs Majuba Hill (2146m/7040ft). Dinner is served en route to Elandslaagte, where it will stop overnight. (B, L, D)
Rise early for an early morning game drive in the Nambiti Private Game Reserve. Return to the train for brunch, before disembarking to enjoy either a game drive in Spioenkop Reserve or a visit of the Spioenkop battlefields. Return to the train for dinner. (B, L, D)
Enjoy breakfast before visiting the famous Ardmore Ceramics Gallery. The train then continues towards Pietermaritzburg. Lunch is served in the dining cars. Arrive at Durban Station, marking the conclusion of your journey. (B, L)
