Overview

Zimbabwe is truly a land of contrasts. This fully-inclusive safari showcases just some of its diversity: the mighty Victoria Falls, one of the natural Wonders of the World; Hwange National Park, famous for its abundant herds of elephant; Bumi Hills, where you can take a boat cruise on Lake Kariba and Mana Pools National Park, one of the best game viewing areas in the country. Accommodation is 5 star and is superbly located.

Itinerary

DAY 1: VICTORIA FALLS
On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your lodge located on a private stretch of the Zambezi River. Two nights at OLD DRIFT LODGE. (D)

DAY 2: VICTORIA FALLS
This morning you will be taken on a guided tour of the falls known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, ‘the smoke that thunders’. Enjoy brunch or lunch at Lookout Café including drinks. This afternoon enjoy a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River, with the chance to spot hippos and crocodiles while admiring an African sunset. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: VICTORIA FALLS – HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, take a scheduled flight to Hwange National Park then continue on to Somalisa Camp. This beautiful camp overlooks a waterhole frequently visited by local wildlife – mainly herds of elephant for which Hwange is famous. Three nights at SOMALISA CAMP. (B, L, D)

DAYS 4 – 5: HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
Besides large herds of elephant you may also find the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, and many other wildlife species in Hwange. You will have a choice of several activities including game drives, bushwalks, bird watching, game viewing from hides, night drives and cultural tours of local villages. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: HWANGE NATIONAL PARK – BUMI HILLS
After breakfast, take a scheduled flight to Bumi Hills. Offering outstanding views over Lake Kariba, your lodge is situated on an extensive wildlife conservation area that is home to lion, leopard, big herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as several different plains game. Two nights at BUMI HILLS SAFARI LODGE AND SPA. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: BUMI HILLS
Activities on offer at the lodge include game drives, a boat cruise, fishing, walking safaris, a visit to Kariba town and a cultural village visit. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: BUMI HILLS – MANA POOLS
After breakfast, you will fly to Mana Pools National Park. Your accommodation is a luxury tented camp located less than
10km from the Zambezi River. Three nights at NYAMATUSI CAMP. (B, L, D)

DAYS 9–10: MANA POOLS
Over the next two days you will have the choice of open 4X4 vehicle game drives, walking safaris, canoeing and fishing (catch and release only). Alternatively, you may choose to relax on your private deck and take in the animals and birds
that frequent the area. (B, L, D)

DAY 11: MANA POOLS – HARARE
After a final breakfast, fly to the capital of Harare where yoursafari will come to an end on arrival. (B)

Nyamatusi Camp

Located in the beautiful and remote Nyamatusi Wilderness Concession in the far east of Mana Pools National Park, this camp offers 6 luxury tents accommodating a maximum of 12 guests. Each tent has an indoor and outdoor shower, bathtub, air conditioning and a private plunge pool. There’s a lounge and dining area, a downstairs lounge, dining room, library and bar area. Activities include game drives, walking safaris, nature walks around the camp, canoeing and fishing.

Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

Perched on top of a range of remote hills on the shores of Lake Kariba, Bumi Hills is afforded breathtaking panoramic views over the lake. Ten beautifully appointed premium suites surround the iconic infinity pool which overlooks the surrounding landscape. There is a wide choice of activities including cruises on the lake in a private boat or tiger fishing, one of the most exciting fishing activities in the world.

Somalisa Camp

Somalisa Camp is a small, intimate, 7-tent camp tucked away on an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain in the Hwange National Park. Herds of elephant visit the camp often and are seen regularly especially from the pool and deck area. The main camp area includes a separate lounge and dining area and a splash pool, from which guests can watch the adjacent “Elephant Pool” and waterhole where herds of game gather to drink. Guided walks and day and night games drives are offered to guests, after which guests can come back to the camp to relax.

Old Drift Lodge

Located on the banks of the Zambezi River and upstream from the famous Victoria Falls, Old Drift Lodge is nestled amongst the bush and boasts 14 luxurious suites. Each boasts their own viewing deck and plunge pool, the perfect place to take in views of the elephant, buffalo and giraffe wandering past. Activities offered include game drives, guided tours of the falls, river and walking safaris.
