Deccan Odyssey – Indian Odyssey

Overview

The Deccan Odyssey is a luxury train offering all the comforts you would expect. The train has 11 accommodation coaches, a dining car, lounge, a conference car and a health spa. The cabins are beautifully appointed with air conditioning, internet connectivity and private facilities. This journey offers a taste of the best India has to offer including Ranthambore National Park, famous for its tigers, the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Amber Fort and markets of Jaipur and the lake city of Udaipur, before finishing in the cosmopolitan city of Mumbai.

Itinerary

DAY 1: DELHI – SAWAI MADHOPUR
Today, you will board the Deccan Odyssey at Delhi train station. After a traditional welcome, the train will begin its journey to Sawai Madhopur. Overnight ON- BOARD. (D)

DAY 2: SAWAI MADHOPUR (RANTHAMBORE NP)
After an early breakfast, you will be taken on a game drive in Ranthambore National Park, renowned for its tiger sightings. You will then head to Taj Sawai Madhopur Lodge for high tea, visiting a local village en route. Overnight ON-BOARD as the train winds its way to Agra. (B, L, D, HT)

DAY 3: AGRA
After breakfast on-board, you will be taken for a visit to the iconic Taj Mahal, possibly the most famous landmark in the World. After lunch at a city hotel you will visit Itmad-ud-Daulah (“Baby Taj”) and the Agra Fort. The rest of the day is free to explore Agra. Overnight ON-BOARD as the train heads to
Jaipur. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: JAIPUR
After breakfast, you will be taken on a tour of Jaipur to see the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the Amber Fort. After lunch at a city hotel, the afternoon is at leisure to explore this amazing city. Overnight ON-BOARD as
the train heads to Udaipur. (B, L, D)

DAY 5: UDAIPUR
Today you will visit one of India’s most beautiful cities, Udaipur, known as the City of Lakes. You will visit the City Palace, before travelling by ferry on Lake Pichola to visit the Jangmandir Palace for lunch. You will then take a heritage walk through
Udaipur. Dinner and overnight ON-BOARD as the train heads to Vadodara. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: VADODARA
After breakfast, you will disembark to visit the Champanet Pavagadh Archaeological Park. After lunch back on-board, visit the Fateh Singh Museum, before heading to the Laxmi Villas Palace, a royal residence built in 1890, for high tea. Overnight ON-BOARD as the train heads to Aurangabad. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: ARURANGABAD (ELLORA CAVES)
The morning is spent travelling to Aurangabad. On arrival, lunch is served. In the afternoon you will be taken on a scenic drive to Ellora Caves – a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy Sundowner drinks at the Mumbai Hi, followed by dinner. Overnight ON-BOARD as the train heads to Mumbai. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: MUMBAI
After breakfast, you will disembark, marking the end of the journey. (B)
