DAY 1: ARRIVE KOLKATA
On arrival at Kolkata airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Two nights at your HOTEL in Kolkata. (B)
DAY 2: KOLKATA
Today you will be taken on a full day tour of Kolkata city, visiting the Howrah Bridge, the Victoria Memorial, Maiden Park and landmarks such as the Writers’ Building and the Town Hall. The tour culminates with a visit to Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity. (B)
DAY 3: KOLKATA – BAGDOGRA – DARJEELING
Today you will board your flight to Bagdogra. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your HOTEL in Darjeeling, a region set high in the Himalayas with breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks and the surrounding tea plantations. (B, D)
DAY 4: DARJEELING
Early this morning you will visit Tiger Hill and the Ghoom Monastery to view the sun rise over the Himalayas. Return to the hotel for breakfast before taking a ride on the World Heritage Toy Train and enjoying a city tour which includes visits to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the Zoological Park and the Tibetan Refugee Centre. DAY 5: DARJEELING
Day at leisure to explore the town on your own. (B, D)
DAY 6: DARJEELING – GANGTOK
After breakfast, you will be taken by road to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim which is full of orchids and surrounded by monasteries. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of the city, visiting the Flower Exhibition Centre, Do Drul Chorten, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, the Cottage Industry and the Bakthang Waterfall. (B,D)
DAY 7: GANGTOK
After breakfast you will be taken on a full day tour to Changu Lake (3,753m above sea level). The lake’s water comes from melting snow from the surrounding mountains. Visit the Singh memorial temple, New Baba Mandir, before returning to your HOTEL in Gangtok. (B, D)
DAY 8: GANGTOK – KALIMPONG
This morning you will be taken by road to Kalimpong. In the afternoon you will visit Zang Dog Palri Fo Brang Monastery, Tharpa Choling Monastery, Thongsa Gumpa and flower nurseries. Overnight at your HOTEL. (B, D)
DAY 9: KALIMPONG – BAGDOGRA – KOLKATA
After breakfast you will be transferred to Bagdogra Airport to board your afternoon flight back to Kolkata where your tour will end. (B)
