Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVE PARO – THIMPHU
On arrival at Paro airport you will be met and transferred to Thimphu, a city with a mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions. In the afternoon, you will be taken to visit the National Memorial Chorten. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to walk around Thimphu main street and market area. Overnight at your HOTEL. (D)

DAY 2: THIMPHU
Today you will be taken to visit the statue of Buddha Dordenma, which is said to emanate an aura of peace and happiness. Afterwards, visit the Postal and Textile Museums before stopping for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy sightseeing with the opportunity to visit the Folk Heritage Museum and Centenary Farmers Market. Overnight at your HOTEL. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: THIMPHU – PUNAKHA
After breakfast you will travel across the Dochula Pass and proceed onward to Punakha town, where you will check into your HOTEL. In the afternoon visit Punakha Dzong built in the 17th Century and once home to the Bhutanese government. Afterwards, a short walk by farmhouses and through rice paddies takes you to Chimi Lhakhang, a 15th Century fertility temple. Overnight at your HOTEL. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: PUNAKHA
This morning enjoy a hike to the Khamsum Yuelley Namgel Chorten. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the riverside before visiting Talo Village and the Nalanda Buddhist Institute. Overnight at your HOTEL. (B, L, D)

DAY 5: PUNAKHA – PARO
Today you will visit Wangduephodrang Dzong. Founded in1638, the dzong sits atop a high ridge between two rivers, offering captivating view of the valley below. Afterwards continue to Paro, where you will visit Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong. Overnight at your HOTEL. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: PARO
After breakfast you will be driven to the Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of the most famous monasteries in Bhutan. Overnight at your HOTEL. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: DEPART PARO
This morning after breakfast, you will tranfered to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
