Delhi

What better place to start a journey across India than in its capital, Delhi?! A city of extremes where old meets new. Wander the narrow streets of Old Delhi guided by an aromatic combination of incense and street food through crowded Bazaars, buzzing markets and colourful streets. In contrast, New Delhi boasts colonial era parliament buildings with  modern Boulevards and Palaces.  Whether it’s old or new, Delhi is rich in historical grandeur. The Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Jama Masjid and the Qutb Minar Complex are all “must sees”.

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is one of the best places to see wild tigers in broad daylight.  In comparison to other national parks in India, this reserve is reputed to have the highest density of tigers.  As well as the Tigers, see a range of other animals including the sloth bear, leopard, wild dogs, the hyenas and many species of deer. Whilst the wildlife is a highlight of the Reserve, Bandhavgarh is also home to 250 species of birds, truly a bird watchers paradise.

Varanasi

Nothing says authentic India like the oldest city on the Indian continent. Known as the holiest city for Hindus, Varanasi is an experience like no other.  This city is a melting pot of culture and religion.  Take an early morning boat ride on the River Ganges, along the Ghats, bathing and cremation sites. See Hindu Priests perform the holy Aatari.  The River Ganges is the most sacred waterway in India to people of Hindu faith. Bathing in the Ganges signifies purifying and cleansing oneself. Being cremated at the River Ganges liberates the endless cycle of birth and death.

Agra

Next among our highlights is the famous Agra Fort which comprises of various palaces, audience halls and two exquisite mosques.   A visit to Agra is incomplete without visiting the spectacular Taj Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal the mausoleum is the most breathtaking monument in India.

Jaipur

We cannot conclude the highlights of authentic India without mentioning the spectacular Pink City.  Pink is the traditional colour of welcome. To honour Prince Albert during his visit to India  in 1853, Jaipur was steeped in terracotta pink. Explore the romantic Rajasthan Amber Fort and the stunning Seesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors).   Be sure to see the City Palace and Observatory leaving plenty of time for souvenir shopping around Hawa Mahal and Jewellery Street.
