Visit the Hassan II Mosque

The largest mosque in Africa and one of the most striking sights in Casablanca, the Hassan II Mosque commemorates the former king’s 60^th birthday. Jutting out over the water, the mosque is said to represent Allah’s throne, which was built on water. This stunning architectural feat is also one of the only mosques open to the non-Muslim public. Well worth a visit, join a guided tour and spend a morning or afternoon marvelling at this spectacular monument.

Fes el-Bali

Prepare to get lost in this historic medina, amongst winding cobblestone alleyways and streets overflowing with stalls and shops selling fruits, meat and spices. Founded at the end of the 8^th century, Fes el-Bali retains much of its medieval charm. It also promises a visually captivating and historic experience. Visit the Saadian Tombs in Marrakesh

Built by Ahmad el Mansour of the Saadi Dynasty, who ruled over Morocco from 1578 to 1603, the tombs are an example of extravagance of no compare. Mansour spared no expense, importing marble from Italy as well as adorning walls patterned with gold. After the death of the Sultan, many of the entrances to the tombs were blocked off. It was only after more than two centuries had passed that the tombs were rediscovered and reopened. Finally, around 166 tombs are thought to lie there today– housed in stunning mosaic rooms, intricate plasterwork and surrounded by rose gardens.

Explore the Atlas Mountains

The stunning mountain range that runs through Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria is more than just a backdrop. Venture into the Atlas Mountains to explore traditional Berber country, to enjoy a day or multi-day hike or visit the striking sights these ranges offer. Our favourites include the Ouzoud Waterfalls, a stunning cascade of water that descends over the lip of a red-brown gorge. Also, don’t miss paying a visit to the breathtaking Todra Gorge. The striking red rock canyon was formed over many years by a since dried up river. Sahara Desert

Dunes stretching as far as the eye can see and the allure of sleeping under the stars– it’s no surprise that a visit to the Sahara Desert is on many a bucket list. Although quite a distance from both Fes and Marrakech, it is this isolation that makes this place so magical. Enjoy a camel ride into the desert, explore towering sand dunes and watch the night sky come to life.

Wander Through the Majorelle Gardens

These stunning gardens, the lifework of Jacques Majorelle, cannot be missed when in Marrakech. Explore the grounds of towering cacti, palms and pools of lilies and lotus flowers, broken up with the “Majorelle Blue” buildings. After Jacques Majorelle’s death, the gardens fell into ruin. It was only years later that Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge, founders of the famous fashion label, rediscovered it. Thankfully, they then restored it and reopened it to the public.
